On July 22nd, Nana Marina Cruz, Ajq’iij (spiritual guide) of the Tz’utujil Maya people, will arrive in Ibiza with part of her family to share her ancestral medicine.
Born in San Pedro La Laguna, on the shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, Nana Marina is a healer, master of the Maya calendar, and facilitator of traditional ceremonies with fire, cacao, temazcal, and tobacco.
Her visit is both an honor and a rare opportunity: she carries a spiritual lineage passed down by her father, the revered Tata Pedro Cruz, and is an active defender of indigenous culture and rights. Beyond her spiritual work, she leads community projects focused on preserving tradition and fostering well-being in her village.
The Living Altar at Las Dalias
As part of her visit, the Las Dalias Night Market will become the stage for a unique ceremonial gathering: "The Living Altar of the Tz’utujil People", an immersion into the Maya worldview—a space to connect body, spirit, and the sacred energy of fire.
The ceremony will take place on July 22nd at 8:00 PM, and attendance is free of charge.
Each element of the altar will carry deep symbolic meaning, opening a doorway into the ancestral understanding of time, nature, and healing as seen through the eyes of the Maya people.
A Bridge from Guatemala to Ibiza
This ceremony is also an act of reciprocity and continuity: in 2024, Las Dalias visited the Jun Imox Association, led by Nana Marina’s family in Guatemala, supporting their mission of sharing knowledge and creating a healing center.
Now, that connection comes full circle in Ibiza, with this special visit inviting us to partake in a moment of presence, gratitude, and learning.

We recommend avoiding peak hours (Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.), as significant traffic congestion occurs. Additionally, we may need to close the market entrance if full capacity is reached.
